My Little Girl Turned 6 last week. She is all grown up!!! :( I have been secretly trying to talk her out of a Birthday Party for a while now. (little hints here and there, "wouldn't it be funner if we went out to dinner with just our family?") She has ignored all of my subtle hints and has wanted a party with all of her little friends which I would have been happy to throw for her, if that is what she wanted. Until a couple of days before the big day and she came up to me and said "for my Birthday I want French Toast, fruit, and bacon for Breakfast; and for my Party I want to go out to Texas Roadhouse (she wanted to sit on the saddle, and eat rolls!!) with just the family for dinner. I then felt bad and tried to talk her into having a party with her friends but she was very insistent that that is what she wanted. So we happily obliged!!! :)

When we were up on the Mountain a couple weekends ago the kids were all playing back in the trees. Then all of a sudden all we could hear were high pitched shrills, and screams and little kids running out of the trees. They had run into a yellow jacket bee hive in one of the logs they were playing on, and the bees started swarming all over them. K.C. and Presley got bit once on their heads. Tryston got bitten on his forehead and his arm, and poor Allee got bitten on her forehead and her lip. Her lip swelled up so big. She had a hard time eating and talking for a little while, but by morning the swelling was completely gone.

First Day of School!! K.C. started 2nd grade, and Kell started Kindergarden. They both love their teachers and are doing really well. Mckell loves school. She told me the other day that she hates afternoon school, cuz she hates having to wait soooo long to go to school.

24th of July Weekend

We spent the weekend playing up north. We stayed at Kevin's G&G's on Wednesday, then we headed to Lagoon Thursday and then did the Bounce back and spent Friday at Lagoon-a-beach & Lagoon. Then we spent the rest of weekend back at Kevin's G&G's house. It was such a fun weekend!

Lagoon:
K.C. is not a huge thrill seeker. I wouldn't say he is not daring cuz he is, he rode every ride at Lagoon, but once was enough for him.
Mckell on the other hand loves the thrill!! We would get done with one ride and she would want to go again. She loved Wicked, the old Roller Coaster, and the Collosus! She was mad there were a few rides that she couldn't go on, mabey next year.
Allee loved all the kiddie rides and the ones that go around and around.
Taylee was in heaven as long as she was on a ride! She loved loved loved all the rides and would be mad (scream) when she couldn't go on one. She would ride the little kid rides and hold her hands up and say WWEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

We tried and tried to talk Kace into riding the swing with us, but he had no desire to. Mckell on the other hand was very excited/nervous to. As they were taking us up in the air, she looked over at me and said she was scared, but before we were done she was asking if we could do it again! She is a little thrill seeker just like me!

Lagoon-a-beach: The water was freezing, and it was a little over cast so needless to say it was a little cold. But, we all still had fun. The kids all loved the lazy river and the kids play area. The lines were really long for any of the big slides so we didn't go on too many of them.

4th of July on the Mountain

We went camping for the 4th of July with Family. We love being on the Mountain, especially with family!!

We let the kids stay up late one night (I think it was almost midnight) and play Baseball with a huge light that Kevin set up so they could see. It was a little cold but the kids didn't care. They had a ball!

We drove down to Cedar and went to dinner and then went and watched the fireworks.

The next night we Roasted Marshmellows and let the kids have some fun with Sparklers. Taylee thought they were the coolest things ever!

We also went fishing. Which Kell and Kace especially love to do.

Busy, Busy, Busy!!

I know I have been MIA for the past 2 months. Here is a long post to catch you up on whats been going on at out house.:)

Mckell graduated preschool - she loved her class and her teacher.

K.C. got the Radiant Roadrunner award at his school. He had to accomplish a bunch of things to be able to get it. We are so proud of him!

Mckell attended Safety Town this year. She has been looking forward to it ever since K.C. went before he started kindergarten. She had so much fun!

Allee broke her collar bone and had to wear this wrap for 2 weeks. She hated it, but she wore it without complaining. We are still not sure exactly what happened. Her and K.C. collided at a splash pad. K.C. got a fat lip, and she broke her collar bone?!?! Go figure!

K.C. played baseball again this year. His team was the New York Yankee's which he loved cuz that is where Papa & Grama are.

We went camping for with the family on Memorial Weekend. My parents came home from their mission in New York for a two week medical leave, so they got to come with us. It was so nice to be with family on the mountain and out of the heat of SG. The kids absolutely love to go camping, so we do alot of it during the summer. The kids caught Horny Toads, and took turns holding them.

I went to Vegas with 2 of my BFF's for a girls trip. We had so much fun, we didn't do anything but lay be the pool, shop, and eat. Hey- but isn't that what a girls trip is all about!! Ann-we missed you!!

Allee turned 4 today. My friend Annie made her this cute as heck cake (it turned out so cute) She has had her B-day planned for a month now. She wanted to have a slumber/pajama party. So that's what we did, minus the sleepover part!! All her little friends came in their P.J.'s. They watched Enchanted, ate popcorn, got their toenails painted and colored. It turned out to be really fun, and Allee loved it! Happy Birthday Girl!! We also chopped Allee's hair a week ago. She has been begging to get it cut for a while now. It turned out so cute, and she loves it. After she got it cut she had a perma grin on all day and kept looking at herself in the mirror.

We had our annual Neighborhood Eater Egg Hunt on Friday.

The kids dyed our Easter Eggs all by themselves. They thought they were so cool. They wanted to do more after they finished all 18 of them.

-Easter Morning -
The Easter bunny hid all of the kids Easter baskets really well this year. They had a lot of fun trying to find them all. They look so cute in their Easter outfits!

We had a Bar-B-Que and Easter Egg Hunt at my Brothers today. My parents sent stuff for the kids to have an Easter egg hunt, and also cute outfits for all the grandkids.

White sands

We went to the White Sands the other day with some friends. We had so much fun! My kids love doing anything outside. We packed a picnic, climbed on the rocks, and played in the sand. By the time they were done we had sand in every crevice, but we had a great time!! Thanks for the invite Rach!

Well the little leprechaun found our home. K.C. & Kevin even built a trap to try to catch him. But, he out smarted them!!

He did however ransack our home. There were cupboard doors left open, chairs tipped over, bar stools up-side down, I think he even got into our honey (we heard they like honey). The kids thought it was the coolest thing ever. K.C. was a little sad that the leprechaun got away. He was really excited to catch him and take all of his gold. :) (if only!!!) However, he did leave us some treats that we found in our Microwave

Wow it is 2009. Have you all made your New Years Resolutions? Is all of your Christmas Decor put away till next year? I am not one to make New Years Resolutions, but I do like to reflect back on the year and think about what I can do different to make this year better than the last. The one thing that I came up with is to try harder to live in the day - live in the moment. meaning: Enjoy the moment for what it is. Laugh harder and more. Say I love you more. Don't be so quick to get angry. Don't sweat about the little things - Remember that most things are the little things! I hope you all had a wonderful New Years, and I hope that 2009 brings you greater happiness than 2008.

For New Years we had the family over and played games, ate lots of food, and had a ball.

I can't believe it is all over. We had a wonderful Christmas. The kids got everything they wanted and more! Over the Holiday we did a lot of lounging, and played a lot of games. I don't think we even left our house for a week:) It was wonderful!! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Eve was very low key at our house this year. I think it is the first year since we have been married that we have been with just our little family. Quite honestly I didn't even know what to do. We ended up playing games, going for a ride to look at Christmas lights, and ended with the kids opening their P.J. presents. The Wallin Family Christmas Party was on Sunday. The kids love playing with their cousins, and Kathy (kevins mom) always has extravagant and delicious food prepared!! The kids got to open a present from the cousins gift exchange so they were very excited!

The extended Ellett family Christmas Party was last night. We had so much fun - good food, games, & great company! It is always nice to get together with all of my cousins and aunts and uncles on my dad's side of the family!!

K.C.'s Christmas Program

K.C. had his school Christmas Program this week. It was really crowded (standing room only). It was really hot, and the girls were frustrated because they couldn't see. But, other than that it was a good program. K.C. and Easton are in the same class. They both did really good - I think! (I was one of the parents in the very back standing in a crowd of other sweating parents, and trying to entertain my other kids who couldn't see anything but the backs of other people):) Well they both looked really cute, that is all that really matters right!!!!

Our Thanksgiving Weekend (late)

Wow, sorry how everything on my blog lately has been (late)!! We went up north to Kevin's Grandparents for Thanksgiving. It was a lot of fun seeing his cousins that we don't get to see very often. Kay & Norma were such gracious hosts and the meal was delish!

We took the kids to the Festival of Lights in Spanish Fork Canyon. You drive around this huge park with your lights off listening to Christmas Music while looking at all the beautiful lights. The kids loved it, we went around twice.

We also went to Thanksgiving Point to the Dinosaur Museum. That place is huge, it just keeps going and going! The kids thought it was awesome! They loved playing in the dirt with the little dinos, and they especially loved digging in the dirt for dinosaur bones - even Taylee joined in on that one.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving (now that it is almost Christmas)

Girls Trip!! There was alot of talking, texting, shopping, and eating. Not alot of sleeping. We had a blast and cant wait to do it again next year. (Kena you better be there!!) Thanks Jen and Katie for letting us stay at your house. Good times and lots of memories: Staying up way too late, waking up way too early, chocolates, Maccaroni Grill, PF Changs, Jason-wink-wink, Annie I will always remember that little room - hahahaha, the person at the door-who the heck was that?, texting. etc..... Girls, I had a blast!

K & M had their last soccer games this last weekend. They both did so good! I am sad it is over. I love watching my kids play soccer, or any sport for that matter! I guess I am a true soccer mom:)

Last week it was my little Brother Clint's Birthday. We went out to the cemetery and left baloons. I can't believe it has been eight years since he passed away. I miss him and love him. But, I know one day I will see him again!! Love ya Bud!

We started out the day at K.C. school for their annual Halloween Parade. Then I helped out with their Halloween Party. We made cookies, played musical chairs, ring tossed, pumpkin bowled, and painted. Mckell came and helped me with the pumpkin bowling.

Later we headed to Mckells preschool for their Halloween parade. They Paraded around for all the parents. They sang a few Halloween songs, then Trick-or-Treated to all of the Parents. Maesi tagged along.

That night we went over to Brandon & Maleas and had pizza and sugar cookies before we went out Trick-or-Treating. The kids had a ball running from house to house collecting all of thier candy. Our Neighborhood is awesome!! There was a house giving out Hot dogs, Another one giving out Frazzle Slushies, there was a Haunted House, and a Haunted forrest, and even a witch riding around on her old fashioned bike giving out candy. Fun for all! Even Taylee loved it!

Just wanted to say hi to my mom and dad. We love you! (They are serving a mission in New York)

YUMMY PUMPKIN SPICE MUFFIN RECIPE

ingredients:
1 spice cake box mix
2/3 cup canned pumpkin
2 eggs
1 6oz. carton of low fat vanilla yogurt
3/4 cup water

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In large mixing bowl mix together the cake mix, pumpkin, eggs, yogurt & water until combined. Spoon mixture into muffin tins. Bake for 20 min.

This recipe is quick and easy and yummy. Plus it is low fat because I used pumpkin and yogurt in place of the oil. ENJOY!

Soccer

Kace & Kell had their first Soccer games today. They both did so good. Mckell is the oldest and the biggest on her team and she pretty much dominated! She scored all of the goals for her team (8 or 9 of them.)!!! K.C. is really fast and aggressive. He scored 2 goals for his team, and one for the other team (ooops- total acident). Good job kiddos you both did awesome!! We have so much fun watching them play.

Since everyone else is doing it I might as well. I guess that leads me to my first Confession.

[1] I am a follower and get sucked into peer pressure.

[2] I eat cold cereal for lunch way too often.

[3] I hate working, why do we have to have money to survive?

[4] I hate how much Kevin works, again work + money = survive, why????

[5] I dont bathe my kids everyday. Is that gross?

[6] My daughter is almost one, and I have no desire to get her off the bottle. All of my other kids were completely off the bottle by the time they were one.

[7] My Grandparents live around the block from me, and I rarely stop to visit. Sad I know! I am going to be better! Sorry G&G.

[8] My 29th birthday is a couple months away, and I am dreading it!

[9] Our 10 year High School Reunion is Tomorrow and I have no desire to go. But, we are going anyways. (please refer to #1)

[10] I am cheap! I hate how much food is anymore. I dont buy "name brand" food. My kids have to suffer with the Walmart, Harmons, or Albertsons brand.(wherever the sales are.)

My little baby is walking!! She has been walking here and there for a couple weeks now. She can walk, but prefers to crawl most of the time. She is growing up way too fast! Bow Hunt

Last weekend was the opening day of the Bow Hunt. We went with a bunch of my family, I think there were 8 hunters in our camp. Nobody got anything, but we had a lot of fun! K.C. was in heaven, he loves hunting and camping. The girls had so much fun with their cousin Katie and her friend.

We went up and stayed the weekend at Kevin's Grandma & Grandpa's in Santaquin. We took the kids to Lagoon on the 24th and watched their fireworks that night, and then did their Bounce Back and spent the next day at Lagoona Beach. We also went to Cabela's (of course!) and to Chucky Cheese. The kids were in heaven all weekend. We had so much fun. Thanks Kay & Norma for letting us stay. (Sorry lots of pictures to follow)

4th of July Weekend

We had such a fun weekend. We took the trailer and went camping on Cedar Mountain. We went fishing, rode 4-wheelers, shot our bows, ate lots of yummy dutch oven food, relaxed & played cards. The weather was beautiful! We drove down to Cedar City to eat dinner and watch the fire works. Hope you all had a wonderful 4th!

Kevin made this yummy Dutch Oven Chocolate Cake. Here is the recipe - you really should try it!! (I think next time we will try it with toffee chips, or peanut butter chips instead of chocolate chips (or mabey just both)).

1 1/2 cup water
1 (10 oz.) bag miniature marshmallows
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 chocolate cake mix; prepared as directed
1 cup light brown sugar
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Line the bottom and sides of a 12" Dutch oven with heavy foil. Mix the water, cocoa powder, and brown sugar together and pour into the Dutch oven. Add marshmallows and spread them out evenly. Pour prepared chocolate cake mix over marshmallows. Sprinkle chocolate chips over cake batter.

Cover oven and bake using 8-10 briquettes bottom and 14-16 briquettes top for 60 minutes.

Serve warm with whipped cream.

I took Allee shopping, to lunch, to the Bear Mill(thanks for the Birthday money Grandma & Papa), and to get her ears pierced for her Birthday. She has wanted her ears pierced for a while now, so I told her she could on her Birthday. We had so much fun together, and she loved that it was just us! We had a family birthday party for Allee on Monday. She loved it! She wanted a pink worm cake (dont ask!?!?) I took the kids to Veyo Pool on Friday. We have so much fun up there. The weather was beautiful, the pool refreshing, and the crawdads were everywhere. They love catching crawdads in the creek with their sticks and hot dogs. A definate must for the summer!!

My baby is 8 months old. She is the cutest thing ever!! She is crawling everywhere, she pulls herself up to standing to just about anything and everything. She has 6 teeth (Is this normal? Wow it has been along time since I have posted anything. I didn't realize it had been so long! Well here is what we have been up to....
K.C. had his Pre-school Graduation Program on Thurs. It was so cute. I can't believe school is already out for the summer. Are any of you dreading the summer as much as I am. What am I going to do keep my kids busy? Any suggestions!?!?

Kevin had to work in Laughlin Nevada all this last week. So me and the kids went down to stay the week. We just bummed by the pool, went shopping, and played all week. FUN!!!

We went to a Birthday Party at Fiesta Fun for my neice Justine. We had so much fun riding the go carts and the bumper boats. He Birthday was "Cars" themed and the Birthday Cake had a BLACK road down the middle, hence the black face smile from Allee.

Other than that, we took the kids to JUMPIN JACKS, went bowling, and played outside. K.C. lost another tooth, and Taylee got another one.(Thats six and one more is trying to break through!!) It has been a busy couple of weeks. I guess it is time to get back to real life - (work, laundry, dishes, etc.) YUCK!

I love holidays! (any reason to do something out of the norm) I like dressing my kids for the occasion. Red/pink valentine's shirts on Valentines, Patriotic get up of the 4th of July, etc. -And St. Patricks Day is no exception. We will be eating green food, wearing green clothes, and drinkng something green. My friend gave me THE LEGEND OF THE LEPRECHAUNS. I thought it was so cute! My kids will love it! Will the Leprechauns be coming to your house???

This St. Patrick's Day, let your child in on a well-guarded secret and start a new family tradition in the process. The fun begins with the legend of the leprechauns and leads to a treasure box filled with goodies and gifts. Here's what to do. On the day before the holiday, read aloud the following tale:

LEGEND OF THE LEPRECHAUNS
Full of magic and trickery, the leprechauns remain in their hidden world until the night before St. Patrick's Day. On that one night of the year they appear throughout the world to dance and sing and frolic.

Disguising themselves as leaves and grass, and sounding like the wind and the crickets, they come and go unnoticed.

However, it is said that if a decorated treasure box is left empty under the moon, the leprechauns must fill the box with gold or jewels or gifts. But then they will hide the filled box in the most unlikely of places.

If the box is found on St. Patrick's Day, the treasure remains in our world. If not, the leprechauns may retrieve what is rightfully theirs. And though the leprechauns are very clever, it is not impossible to find the treasure because, unknowingly, leprechauns often leave a trail of greenery behind them.

MAKING THE TREASURE BOX
Now, have your child decorate an empty shoe box or tissue box with paints, glitter glue or stickers. If she tries to bargain for a bigger box, explain that leprechauns are tiny and if they can't reach the top of the box, it will remain empty. Just before bed, she should place the finished box on a windowsill where the moon will shine on it.

Once she's sound asleep, the resident leprechauns can fill the box with small treasures, such as foil-covered chocolate coins, costume jewelry or a bag of marbles, and then hide it in a special place. All that's left to do is lay a trail of green leaves or paper shamrocks from the windowsill to the box. An older child may even enjoy the challenge of several trails to follow, some with dead ends (you know, trickery of the leprechauns!).

K.C. loves his hair in a MOHAWK. He thinks he looks so cool! He begs me every morning to comb his hair in a MOHAWK. The higher the better. I think he is cute no matter how his hair is combed, but he seems to disagree. I picked my battles and this is not one of them:)

I made these the other night to go along with our fajitas, and YUM!

STRAWBERRY ENCHILADAS
(note: insead of flour tortillas I used the fresh uncooked tortillas and grilled them before I put the filling in them. And... instead of the sauce I just topped the cooked enchilada's with sliced strawberries and sugar, oh and I also put some sliced strawberries in the filling. They were really really good-even my brother liked them and he doesn't like anything!!! Love ya Brax:))

Flour tortillas

FILLING:
8 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup powdered sugar

STRAWBERRY SAUCE:
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup pureed fresh strawberries
2 cups sliced strawberries

INSTRUCTIONS: To prepare the filling: Combine the cream cheese, sour cream, vanilla and powdered sugar in the bowl of a mixer; beat until fluffy. Set aside.

To prepare the sauce: Combine the butter, orange juice, sugar, salt and pureed strawberries in a 3-quart saucepan. Add sliced strawberries.

Bake the enchiladas in a preheated 350 degrees oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the filling is puffed.

Today is my dads birthday. My dad is the most generous, kind, fun loving, and awesome man I know. He is always up for a good adventure. Whether it is snowmobilling; 4-wheelering; camping; hunting; or his new love, riding his Harley. He always makes the most of any situation. In fact for the first couple of years me and Kevin were married I would worry when they were together. They had quite a few near death experiences together because of the stupid stuff they would do:)
Not only is he the best dad in the world he is also the best grandpa in the world-or mabey even universe(seriously)!!! All of the grandkids adore him. He is always having then over for sleepovers, going to movies, taking them for treats, playing cards, putting puzzles together, wrestling, reading stories, whatever he can do to make them smile. We met in Middle School when we moved 3 houses down from his family. We were friends all throughout middle school and high school. We started dating our Junior Year. We were married January 16th 1999. And as they say, the rest in history. We have had an enjoyable nine years together, and have made tons of memories. Some that stick out in my mind: Snowmobilling in Yellowstone; Building our first house; Parasailing in Puerta Vallarta (Kevin missing his flight home from Mexico); golf ball diving; lots and lots of camping trips; playing Canasta; midnight sledding at the cabin; shooting my first elk, turkey, and deer; going on Cruises together; Giving birth to our four kids; taking the kids to Disneyland; and many many more! I love ya babe, and look forward to many many many more!!!
